  • Deep East Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) Interoperable Communications Plan.

Trott provided professional consulting services for the development of a regional interoperable communications plan for DETCOG’s twelve county planning region. This interoperable communications plan  examines the following issues: providing a summary of current communication capabilities, identifying communications needs and providing recommended solutions with cost estimates. Plan considers and involves all applicable stakeholders including emergency responders, area hospitals and public health officials, local units of government, other organizations providing emergency response services (including the Red Cross, ham radio operators, etc.). Plan  covers in-depth the entire planning region of the Deep East Texas Council of Governments. Plan includes high-level considerations related to interoperability of Counties adjoining the DETCOG Region: Anderson, Cherokee, Hardin, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Montgomery, Orange, Panola, Rusk, and Walker Counties. Plan acknowledges the use of the available regional funds to develop mechanisms to meet a majority of the needs identified.

DETCOG is a voluntary association of the member governments in Angelina, Houston, Jasper, Nacogdoches, Newton, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, and Tyler Counties.

Trott provided professional consulting services for the development of a regional interoperable communications plan for six counties. The plan provided a summary of current communication capabilities. The Plan identified communications needs and provided recommended solutions with cost estimates. The Plan considered all applicable stakeholders as listed by HOTCOG. The Plan covered the entire planning region of HOTCOG (review of a City of Waco/McLennan County radio communications plan was required). The Plan acknowledges the use of the available regional funds to develop mechanisms to meet a majority of the needs identified.

The counties of Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone and McLennan, Texas are the six counties represented by the HOTCOG.
